Naturally sparkling mineral water Souroti

Souroti is naturally sparkling mineral water. It is drawn a few kilometres from Thessaloniki, in the village of Souroti, Greece. The water has kept an unchanged composition from 1916 to this day, and it is the only naturally sparkling water in Greece. It owes its excellent quality to the rock formations of Mount Anthemounta, which consist of semi-metamorphic, metamorphic and igneous rocks. The water flowing in the substrate moves slowly, and as it passes through the different rocks it is filtered and enriched with beneficial elements, which give it its unique mineral composition and distinctive taste.

Its total mineralisation is approximately 1,000 mg/l (dissolved solids and minerals), which makes it one of the naturally most mineral-rich waters in the world. Its passage through rocks of a special composition is what gives it its special taste.

One litre of Souroti water covers approximately a quarter of an adult’s daily need for calcium and approximately a sixth of the daily need for magnesium. The water helps regulate the functions of the digestive and urinary systems. It is rich in bicarbonates and in beneficial minerals and trace elements (such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and lithium), which are as necessary as vitamins for maintaining good physical health.
