Pera

About the brand

Since 1953, 18,000 kg of coffee a day is not much. Even 50 people are few. But it is these small numbers that make Caffè Pera great. Because everyone who works in the company is Caffè Pera – with pride and passion. And because everything is done in the name of quality: from selecting the finest raw materials to producing the blends. Including the roasting, which holds the entire history of Pera, begun with the first wood-fired roasters – a true ritual that required great expertise.

In 1953 Benito Pera invested all his savings in Industry Caffè Pera. From the port of Genoa the coffee arrives at the roasting plant in Alessandria. The story of Caffè Pera is the story of a passion embedded in the DNA of a family and passed on to all its collaborators. 1967 – a new industrial plant. 1981 – Caffè Pera became a corporation. Between the 1980s and 1990s, major acquisitions revived important Italian coffee traditions, last among them the historic PIACENTINO, founded in 1916. In 2003 Arnaldo Pera became president. In 2011 the third generation joined, with Alessandro as CEO, tasked with developing foreign markets. In 2016 TORREFATTORI ASSOCIATI SPA was born – the new company that owns Caffè Pera, Caffè Boasi and Rostkafè.

Today Caffè Pera introduces and exports the aroma and culture of Italian coffee to countries around the world. It studies and produces blends for every sector: from whole-bean coffee to capsules and the traditional formats. Many things have changed, but the soul of the company has not moved: it is still in the roastery.
