Free-Standing Units
19L bottle water dispensers are divided into two types by height. Free-standing units are placed directly on the floor at a comfortable height. Dimensions vary by model and customer preference. Some variants include a cabinet at the bottom.
Desktop Units
Desktop units are shorter and usually placed on a stand, shelf, or kitchen counter. In limited spaces, account for the bottle height on top of the unit — about 50 cm.
Taps and Buttons
Valves for starting and stopping water flow are called taps or buttons:
- Mechanical taps — push up or down; can stay open while filling a glass; easier to replace
- Buttons — sleeker look, but must be held down while filling
- Some models have electronic buttons for water dispensing
